July: Your Voice
Hi Video Kickstarters!
During a Zoom call, I can explain my work for an hour without thinking twice.
Put a blank screen in front of me and I freeze.
Every time.
For years I thought this was a writing problem. I tried templates. I tried outlines. I tried 30-day challenges that promised to fix it.
None of it worked.
They didn't work because the issue was never that I couldn't write. It was that I was trying to start with writing.
The fix wasn't learning to write better. It was deciding not to write first at all.
I started speaking it instead. I picked up my phone, opened a voice memo, and talked about my topic the same way I would explain it to someone on a Zoom call.
Messy. Honest. Real.
And when I read back the transcript, something surprised me: it sounded more like me than anything I'd ever typed.
That's your voice. It's already there. You just have to stop trying to find it on a blank page.
Happy Creating,

The Brain Dump Method
From your head to the camera
Here's the thing about blank page syndrome: the page isn't the problem. You already have the content. It's in your head. You've explained this topic a hundred times. To clients, to colleagues, to people at networking events who asked what you do.
The problem is the translation. Somewhere between your brain and the keyboard, the real you gets edited out.
So here's the method I use and teach:
Step 1: Speak it. Open your voice memo app and talk. Not into a script, into a conversation. Pretend you're explaining your topic to a friend who's smart but new to what you do. Talk for 5–10 minutes. Don't stop to fix anything. The goal is to get it out of your head, not to get it right.
Wispr Flow is a voice dictation app that will "revolutionize your writing experience". Another option is Google's AI Edge Eloquent, a free voice dictation app that cleans up your voice dumps to turn them into ready-to-use copy. Either way: speak first, clean up later.
Step 2: Feed it to NotebookLM. Take your raw transcript and drop it into a NotebookLM notebook. Here's why I use NotebookLM over other AI tools for this step: it's an enclosed system. It only pulls from the sources you give it. No hallucination from the web. No generic content grafted onto your words. What comes back is structured from your thinking not a template that sounds like everyone else.
I keep a notebook I call "My Voice." Everything goes in there: audio journals, reflections, anything that captures who I am. The more I feed it, the better it understands how I actually sound. When I ask it to help me shape a script, what it gives back is me just organized.
Step 3: Refine with Claude. Once you have a structured outline from NotebookLM, bring it into Claude and ask it to help you tighten the language, sharpen the transitions, or adapt it for a specific audience. Claude is excellent at matching your tone when you give it examples of how you actually talk. Feed it a few lines from your transcript and tell it: "This is how I sound. Keep it this way."
The result: a script that sounds like you because it came from you. No ghostwriting. No template voice. No wondering why your videos feel stiff.

July Toolbox
Wisper Flow & Edge Eloquent
I love finding tools and equipment that are simple and easy to use. Here are a couple recommended tools that make capturing your brain dumps simple easy and dare I say, eloquent.
- Wispr Flow(Free — Mac, Windows & iPhone)
The voice dictation app that doesn't just transcribe — it cleans. Speak naturally, filler words and all, and Wispr Flow automatically strips the "ums," the restarts, and the mid-thought corrections before it outputs your text. It works inside every app you already use — Gmail, Docs, ChatGPT — so you're not copying and pasting between tools. It also learns your vocabulary over time, which means the more you use it, the more accurately it captures the specific language that makes you sound like you. This is the tool that makes the brain dump frictionless.
- Google AI Edge Eloquent(Free — iPhone)
Google's answer to voice dictation — and it has one feature that makes it stand out from everything else: it works entirely offline. Every bit of processing happens on your device. Your audio never leaves your phone. For anyone who's hesitated to dictate sensitive client conversations or early-stage business ideas into an app, that matters. Beyond the privacy angle, Eloquent automatically polishes your speech into clean text and lets you choose how you want it shaped — key points, a formal version, short or long. You can even upload a pre-recorded audio or video file and have it transcribed and cleaned in the same workflow. Free, no usage limits, no account required.

Capturing Your Voice
Your voice is already the best script you have. Here's how to capture it.
- Create your "My Voice" notebook in NotebookLM. Start a dedicated notebook and feed it anything that's authentically you — voice notes, past emails you're proud of, past videos, journal entries, personality assessments. The richer the notebook, the more accurately it can reflect your voice back to you when you need it.
- Set a 10-minute talking timer this week. Pick one topic you get asked about constantly. Set a timer. Talk. Don't stop to edit, don't worry about structure. When the timer ends, you have your raw audio. Upload it into NotebookLM, and ask: "What are the three main points I kept coming back to?"
- Stop writing your hook first. Most people try to write the perfect opener before anything else and that's where they get stuck. Start in the middle instead. Explain the thing you know, and find your hook in the transcript afterward. The best opening line is usually hiding three paragraphs in.

Vickie M. Crockett, EdS
TEACH Educational Consulting, LLC
After a Content Audit and Strategy Session, Vickie did what a lot of people say they're going to do and very few actually follow through on.
She posted her first video clip on LinkedIn.
Here's what she shared:
"Just posted my first live reel on LinkedIn as part of my intentional steps toward increased visibility. It was a clip from a podcast! Thank you so much Edie Clarke for reviewing all my media and developing a plan for this tech-challenged babe to follow!"
A Content Audit and Strategy Session gave Vickie a concrete plan, not more information to sift through, but a clear roadmap built around her existing content. She didn't need more tools. She needed to know what to do with what she already had.
That's the session. If your content is sitting in a pile waiting for you to figure out what to do next, that's exactly what it's designed for.

Before you go...
If you've been staring at a blank script wondering why it doesn't sound like you, it's because it isn't you yet. You're trying to write your way to your voice instead of finding your voice first and writing second.
Start talking. See what comes out.
And if you want to shortcut the whole process [content, script, recording, and a finished video] in a single two-hour session, the AI Video Action Sprint might be exactly what you need.
Here's how it works: we meet on Zoom for two hours. We audit your tools, script your content from a brain dump/interview, record or generate your video, and edit it together. You walk away with a polished, publishable video in your hands. Not a course. Not homework. A result.
If that sounds like what's been missing, let's talk.
